The trademark policy change will come into effect on September 14th, bringing UK and Ireland regulations in line with the US and Canada. Advertisers will be able to use trademark in ad copy without permission, so long as they have relevant landing page content and the user is not confused about the origin of the goods or services. This is largely of use to informational sites and resellers, e.g. sites selling products of another brand – Tesco sells Kelloggs.
