Google have announced that its Google images are now worth one billion page views a day. Google revealed the numbers while announcing a major revamp of its image search (which looks a lot like Bing image search):
There are more wide-ranging filter options. The images are more fluidly presented on the results page and more even in size (less higgledy-piggledy); hovering enlarges them; clicking takes you to the landing page with the rest of the page greyed out and the image expanded for saving – rather than the old ‘see image in original context’ palava.
Additionally, there are new ad formats for Image pages that include a picture beside the text link:
These will only appear on Image results pages.
